Pakistan’s role as China’s strategic partner, in contrast to India—China’s regional rival and Pakistan’s primary security challenge—has led to the formation of a strategic alliance encompassing economic, security, and military dimensions. This alliance has significant implications for West Asia and Iran. Employing a descriptive-analytical research method, this study examines the following question: What are the implications of the expanding macroeconomic relations between Beijing and Islamabad for West Asia, particularly for Iran’s national interests? The main hypothesis of the study posits that the strengthening of these ties generates both opportunities and challenges for the region and for Iran’s national interests. The findings indicate that, on the one hand, this trend enhances regional cooperation opportunities by improving transit capacities and facilitating integration into global production and distribution networks across West Asia. On the other hand, the China–Pakistan strategic partnership may alter Iran’s share of regional and international trade and reshape the regional balance of power, thereby creating both significant economic opportunities and challenges for the country.
